Can I take more than one Core Botanicals medicine at a time?

Absolutely! Our medicines are designed to be complimentary, so you can take more than one of them at once for the best effects. For example, our IMMUDEFEN Cold and Flu Medicine (TCM) and our RESPIDEFEN Cough Medicine (TCM) can be taken at the same time if you are suffering from a cold and flu with a cough.
This does not apply to ASTRADEFEN Immune Tonic, which is intended to boost your immune system when your body is free from an active infection. This tonic should be taken on it's own, to help you recover from illness once the active infection has gone away and so it is not intended to be taken alongside other medicine. It can also be taken in maintenance doses (10 mL per day) all year around.

How different is this to cough medicine that you can buy at the chemist?

Over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicine comes in three main types: expectorants, cough suppressants, and combination medicines. Whereas OTC cough medicines are based on pharmaceutical drugs, RESPIDEFEN is based on botanical extracts. In traditional Chinese medicine, RESPIDEFEN is classified as an expectorant and cough suppressant to relieve cough, and dissolve and clear phlegm. Always take as directed and if symptoms persist speak to a health professional.

Can this product be used if taking blood pressure medication?

There are no reported contraindications or drug interactions between RESPIDEFEN and blood pressure medication. However, it is recommended to discuss your specific requirements with a health professional before commencing a new therapy.

Hi I’m wondering if this is safe to take while breastfeeding?

When taken as directed for the symptoms and conditions listed on the label, there are no known safety concerns for RESPIDEFEN while breastfeeding. Of course, if symptoms persist speak to a health professional.

Would this be good for COPD patients?

COPD is a restricted condition for listed medicines. However, as a natural, herbal expectorant traditionally used in Chinese medicine to clear respiratory tract mucous, and dissolve phlegm, the use of RESPIDEFEN could be considered by your doctor, pharmacist or other qualified health professional.

What is the shelf life once opened please? Storage in cool cupboard or fridge?

Properly stored in a cool, dark cupboard, RESPIDEFEN (opened or unopened) will remain active until the end of its expiry date. Core Botanicals maintains a rigorous stability program to ensure expiry dates represent the minimum life of the medicine.

Will it help with my sinus?

RESPIDEFEN is not listed for sinus conditions but is traditionally used in Chinese medicine to relieve and reduce mild upper respiratory tract congestion.

Does it help breathing problems?

RESPIDEFEN is not specifically listed for “breathing problems”. However, it does contain botanical extracts of Aster, Cynanchi and Balloon Flower, which are traditionally used in Chinese medicine to relieve and reduce bronchial mucous congestion. Always take RESPIDEFEN as directed and if symptoms persist speak to a health professional.
